By NJCA in News
Last Friday morning, Schenck Job Corps held its 50th anniversary as part of a national celebration for helping low-income and troubled youth ages 16 to 24 end the cycle of poverty through education and job training.
“The students you see here today have an ability to transform despite the circumstances and situations they might have come from, and their ability to push through that and persevere is exciting to be a part of,” said Schenck Job Corps Director Tammy Wentland. “We get new students every two weeks. When I meet with the new students, I am always looking to see who the natural leaders are, and which ones will need extra attention to make it through the program.
